UUID Generator
Generate version 4 (random) UUIDs. Cryptographically secure, runs locally.
What is a UUID?
A UUID (Universally Unique Identifier) is a 128-bit value formatted as five groups of hexadecimal digits, for example f47ac10b-58cc-4372-a567-0e02b2c3d479. UUIDs are used everywhere in software: database primary keys, API identifiers, session tokens, file names and distributed systems.
This tool generates version 4 UUIDs, where the value is derived from cryptographically secure random numbers, making collisions practically impossible.
How to use this tool
- Enter how many UUIDs you need (1 to 200).
- Click Generate — UUIDs appear one per line.
- Click Copy All to copy the full list to your clipboard.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can two generated UUIDs be the same?
Practically impossible. A v4 UUID has 122 random bits, so the chance of collision is astronomically small even across billions of generated values.
Are these safe for use as security tokens?
Yes. This tool uses the browser's crypto.getRandomValues, which is designed for security-sensitive use cases.
What does the "4" in the third group mean?
It identifies the UUID version. Version 4 means the value is random. Version 1 (time-based) and other versions exist for different use cases.
Is generation done locally?
Yes. UUIDs are generated in your browser and nothing is sent to any server.
